Women Leaders of the Arts and Crafts Movement:  The Innovation of Women Artists in the American Workforce

Presented by Leanna Renee Hieber

Join Leanna Renee Hieber, author, actress, playwright, and artist as she highlights important female figures in 19th and 20 century industrial and commercial art.  From Clara Driscoll, designer of Louis Comfort Tiffany’s stained glass lamps to the women of Rookwood Pottery who created their own company, to Pamela Colman Smith, whose art on the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot is critical to the deck becoming the worldwide standard in tarot reading.  Join us for a lively discussion of art and personalities that changed culture and inspired countless women to create boldly and on their own terms.

Leanna Renee Hieber graduated from Miami University with a BFA in theatre and a focus in the 19th Century. She has performed in regional theatres around the country starring in Shakespeare, classical theatre, and adapting 19th century literature for the professional stage. A New York City resident, she is a licensed New York City tour guide, a member of AEA, SAG-AFTRA and has been featured in film and television shows like Boardwalk Empire and Mysteries at the Museum.
