What makes certain songs timeless? We hope to answer that question as we embark upon a journey of musical discovery with pianist and vocalist Jay Daniels. Our journey of Rhythm and Romance takes us through the musical works of the early 20th Century – specifically those love songs composed by Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern & Oscar Hammerstein, and George & Ira Gershwin including popular hits like Bye, Bye Blackbird (Henderson, Dixon 1926), Bill Bailey, Won’t You Please Come Home (Cannon, 1902), and Somebody Loves Me (Gershwin, MacDonald, DeSylva, 1924). You’ll discover more than just the music as Jay shares some of the stories behind the songs and the artists that made them popular.
About the Performer: Pianist and vocalist Jay Daniels is no stranger to the world of classic jazz and pop music. Even from his earliest days as a child in Virginia, he fell in love with the sound of artists like Patsy Cline, Nat King Cole, and Jo Stafford. That love of timeless music eventually led him to a full-time career as a pianist and vocalist serving clients throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Previously, Jay was the host and executive producer of the globally syndicated radio program, Simply Timeless.
Jay is proud to call New Jersey home; he is a resident of Collingswood in Camden County.
